The Muladhara Chakra is situated at the perineum, between the genitals and the anus, the power of earth. From Sanskrit Muladhara can be translated as, "That which Holds the Base or Root." Its element is Earth and its color is Ruby Red. Here lies the call “to be” our destiny and realization of our potential. Your Kundalini Seed potential rests, slumbers, here awaiting activation.The flowering of this chakra is the mature person who walks steadily towards their destiny. It is here you are awakened to your deepest and most profound potential in which all aspects of your body, mind and spirit are integrated and expressed.

The Svadisthana (Sexual/Spleen) is situated at the base of your lumbar spine, halfway between your navel and pubic bone. Water’s power is fluid, yet unyielding - the power to overcome obstacles and act with integrity. This is your Seat of Ch’i, Dantiem, your personal will power to be and confidence to stand on your own two feet. From Sanskrit Svadisthana can be translated as “Primordial Abode.”

The Manipura Chakra (Solar Plexus) is located just above your navel. From Sanskrit Manipura can be translated as “City of Jewels or Palace of Jewels.” Here prana has the power of fire and transformation. The idea of I is born and you see yourself flower as separate from other beings.  This is your vital life force energy for empowerment and self esteem, and the throne of the Green Dragon of your personality and ego drive. Its nature is the strong emotional desire for power. Your personal power to direct your spirit for self mastery and individuation, and the ability to surrender your personal will to Divine Will for realizing your highest potential.

The Anahata Chakra (Heart) is located just behind your heart - your portal for Divine Love and Grace. The power of Air is movement and integration. From Sanskrit Anahata can be translated as “Unstruck, unhurt, unbeaten” and refers to the Vedic concept of unstruck sound, the sound of the celestial realm. Here we witness the full force of your intention as it moves from the potential into the actual.This is your vital life force energy that governs all the communication systems in your body, especially the nervous system, and gives rise to your sense of touch and movement of energy flowing within and around you.

The Vishuddha Chakra (Throat) is located at the back of your throat - the power of space is creativity and self expression. This is the prana for transforming vibration into particle, the beginning of creation and coming into being. From Sanskrit Vishuddha can be translated as “to purify by separating out” and refers to one’s “negative” experiences being transformed into wisdom, learning and Pure Consciousness.

The Ajna Chakra (Third Eye or Brow) is the seat of your awareness and is located at the center of your forehead - the power of light is wisdom through contrast and duality; there can be no light without darkness. The power of light gives rise to your imagination and ability to visualize. This is the prana for making ideas, envisioning and image making. From Sanskrit Ajna can be translated as “Command,” and refers to one’s capacity for clairvoyant intuitive wisdom and to SEE TRUTH.

The power of the 7th Chakra is the Power to Know Truth, the power of the Infinite. From Sanskrit Sahasrara can be translated to as “Thousand Petalled Lotus.” The lotus blossom is a symbol for purity and spirituality. In China it is referred to as “the hundred meeting place,” since there are one hundred energy channels that flow up and meet here, at the top of your head.
